The 48th G7 Summit was from 26 to 28 June 2022, under the Presidency of Germany, in Schloss Elmau, Bavaria. The Meeting was hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
This is the seventh time that Germany hosted the summit.
The theme of the Summit was ‘Progress towards an equitable world’.
The 2022 G7 Summit was attended by core G7 member nations which includes Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan United Kingdom, United States and European Union.
The invited guest nations included Argentina, India, Indonesia, Senegal, South Africa, Ukraine.
Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi represented the Indian delegates in the Summit, where he addressed issues like food security, health, gender, equality and democracy.
Group of Seven (G7) is an inter-governmental political forum of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. The European Union is a ‘non-enumerated member’.
