GSL delivers final vessel ‘ICGS Saksham’ under 5 Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Vehicle (CGOPV) Project
- The Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) delivered the 5th and final vessel of the 5 Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Vehicle (CGOPV) Project to the Indian Coast Guard, on February 08, 2022, ahead of contractual schedule.
- The vessel has been named as ICGS ‘Saksham’.
- All 5 vessels under the project have been delivered before time to the Indian Coast Guard by GSL.
- The contract for 5 CGOPVs was inked between GSL and the Ministry of Defence (MoD) on 26th Aug 2016 for INR 20 billion.
- Other 4 vessels under the project are ICGS Sachet, ICGS Sujeet, ICGS Sajag and ICGS Sarthak respectively.
