Bangladesh batter Tamim Iqbal announces retirement from T20I cricket

  • Bangladesh ODI captain and most successful opener, Tamim Iqbal has announced his retirement from T20 Internationals, after playing the format for almost 15 years. 
  • The 33-year-old made his T20I debut in September 2017 after which he 78 T20Is for Bangladesh and scored 1,758 runs at a strike rate of 116.96.
  • His last T20I international match was in March 2020 against Zimbabwe in Mirpur.
