• Veteran Tamil writer C. S. Lakshmi (Ambai) has been selected for the Tata Literature Live! Lifetime Achievement Award for the year 2023.
• Her fiction is published under her pseudonym Ambai.
• The award recognises and salutes sustained and outstanding contribution to writing and literature in India.
• Past recipients include Anita Desai, Mark Tully, Amitav Gosh, Ruskin Bond and Girish Karnad.
• The 14th edition of Tata Literature Live! The Mumbai Litfest will be held from 27 to 29 October 2023.
• Ambai is also a recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2021 for her novel Sivappu Kazhuthudan Oru Pachai Paravai (A Red-Necked Green Bird).
