The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully conducted the Reusable Launch Vehicle Autonomous Landing Mission (RLV LEX) on April 02, 2023.
The test was conducted at the Aeronautical Test Range (ATR), Chitradurga, in Karnataka.
Under this mission, a winged body was carried to an altitude of 4.5 km by a helicopter and released for carrying out an autonomous landing of a space vehicle on a runway.
It was the first-of-its-kind mission in the world.
