Varanasi declared first Cultural And Tourism Capital of SCO
The holy city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh has been declared the first Cultural and Tourism Capital of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) for 2022-2023.
This new initiative by the Bloc is launched under rotation basis.
The SCO members will rotate the title of Cultural and Tourism Capital among different states.
The presidency of the organisation will also be decided by which city becomes the capital of the cultural heritage.
