Cabinet approves continuation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) – “Housing for All” Mission upto December 31, 2024
- The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved for the continuation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) up to December 31, 2024.
- The continuation of the scheme based on the request of States/UTs, will help in completion of already sanctioned 122.69 lakh houses till March 31, 2022.
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) is a flagship Mission of Government of India being implemented by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
- The mission was launched on June 25, 2015, to ensure a pucca house to all eligible urban households by the year 2022.
