Centre appoints Ravi Mittal as new Chairman of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India

• Ravi Mittal, the former secretary, Department of Sports, has been appointed as the Chairman of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), as per the notification issued by Ministry of Corporate Affairs on February 02, 2022.
• Ravi Mittal is a 1986 batch IAS officer from Bihar cadre.
• He will serve as the Chairman of IBBI for a term of five years or till he attains 65 years of age, whichever is early.
• The post was lying vacant since September 30, 2021, after M S Sahoo retired on completing his five-year tenure.
• Navrang Saini, a whole-time member of IBBI, was serving as interim chairman on an additional charge since then.
