England all-rounder Ben Stokes announces retirement from ODIs
Star England all-rounder and captain of the England Test team, Ben Stokes has announced his retirement from ODI cricket, as he says that playing three formats has become “unsustainable” for him.
The 31-year-old Stokes will play his last ODI against South Africa on 19 July 2022 in Durham, his home ground.
Stokes has scored 2919 runs and taken 74 wickets in 104 ODIs. He made his ODI debut against Ireland in 2011.
