First Khelo India National Ranking Women Archery Tournament held in Jamshedpur

• The first phase of the Khelo India National Ranking Women Archery Tournament was held on April 12 and 13, 2022 at TATA Archery Academy, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
• The tournament was organised jointly by the Archery Association of India (AAI), in collaboration with the Jharkhand Archery Association and TATA Steel.
• It must be noted that the Sports Authority of India (SAI) has approved to host the Khelo India National Ranking Women Archery Tournament over six phases, at an estimated budget of Rs 75 Lakh.
• The six tournaments will be held every alternate month and the final phase will take place in December 2022. 
• The tournament will be held across the Recurve and Compound events in the senior, Junior and Cadet Categories, as per the World Archery Rules.
• The National Ranking Women Archery Tournament is part of the initiative by Khelo India’s Sports for Women component, to encourage more female participation in a wide array of sports competitions.
