India and Japan Navies conducts Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) in Andaman Sea
- The Japan Maritime Self Defense Force and Indian Navy undertook a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) on July 23, 2022 in Andaman Sea.
- The exercise between the two navies aimed towards ensuring safe and secure international shipping and trade in Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
- The main objective of the exercise was to enhance the interoperability and streamlining seamanship and communication procedures.
- From India, an offshore patrol vessel INS Sukanya participated and from Japan JS Samidare, a Murasame class destroyer, undertook various exercises.
