Manpreet Singh and PV Sindhu chosen as India’s flag-bearers for opening ceremony of 2022 Birmingham CWG
The Indian Men’s National Hockey team captain, Manpreet Singh, was named as the flag bearer for Indian contingents by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) during the 2022 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony in Birmingham.
It must be recalled that India shuttler P.V. Sindhu was chosen as the female flagbearer of the Indian contingent.
The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee made it mandatory for each nation to name two Flagbearers, one male and one female, for the Opening Ceremony.
Manpreet Singh led the Indian men’s hockey team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in 2021, which won bronze medal.
