PM Modi unveils ‘SPRINT challenges’ for Indian Navy

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the ‘SPRINT challenges’ for the Indian Navy on July 18, 2022, during a naval seminar ‘Swavlamban’ at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi.
The collaborative project ‘SPRINT’ is an initiative to boost the usage of indigenous technology in the Indian Navy and attain self-reliance in defence sector.
SPRINT stands for Supporting Pole-Vaulting in R&D through iDEX (Innovations for Defence Excellence), NIIO and TDAC (Technology Development Acceleration Cell).
The Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Organisation (NIIO), in cooperation with the Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO), aims to induct at least 75 new indigenous technologies/products into the Indian Navy in line with ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
