S.Korea, the US, Japan holds Multilateral Pacific Dragon missile defence exercise
The biennial Pacific Dragon ballistic missile defense exercise between the military of South Korea, the United States and Japan is being held from August 01 to August 14, 2022 off the coast of Hawaii.
Pacific Dragon is basically a trilateral ballistic missile defense (BMD) tracking event between the U.S. Navy, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and Republic of Korea Navy.
However, apart from the three countries, Canada and Australia is also taking part in the multilateral drill in 2022, which is being led by the US Pacific Fleet .
The Pacific Dragon exercise aims to improve interoperability and tactical and technical coordination among participants in detecting, tracking, reporting and assessing ballistic targets. It also aims to enhance the readiness against escalating threats from North Korea.
