106-year-old Astronomical Lab of Bihar college included on Unesco heritage list

  • An astronomical observatory in India, which is 106-year-old, has been included on the UNESCO list of important endangered heritage observatories of the world.
  • The astronomical observatory is located at Langat Singh College, in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.
  • This observatory was the first of its kind in eastern India. It was established in the college in 1916 to impart astronomical knowledge to the students in detail.
  • Langat Singh College was set up in 1899. It is affiliated to Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University, (BRABU).
